Ahead of 2015 Governorship:PDP Stakeholders Re-Affirm Obong Victor Attah as AKS Political Leader

…Pledge to Back Bassey Albert as the Next Governor

It was a gathering of who is who in the politics of Akwa Ibom State in Ibesikpo Asutan Local government area as political gladiators across the 31 local government areas in the state re-affirmed the immediate past governor of the state, Arc (Obong) Victor Attah as the political Leader of Akwa Ibom State and pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to him.

The event which was the consultation visit of the former commissioner for finance, Obong Bassey Albert Akpan attracted prominent citizens of Uyo Senatorial District as well as Ibesikpo Asutan.

Speaking at the occasion, the former finance commissioner, Obong Bassey Albert while addressing the mammoth crowd urged the people to accord the former governor the necessary respect adding that after serving the state meritoriously, Obong Attah deserved to be the political leader of Akwa Ibom State. The governorship hopeful also appealed to prominent politicians in the area that after his wide consultation across the state, they should present him to Obong Attah as the best man for the Job.
Obong Bassey Albert who is one of the leading governorship aspirants in the state, in disclosing  his intention to contest the 2015 governorship election, noted that the present administration has marginalized Uyo Senatorial District in terms of appointments.

He pointed out that the quest for Eket Senatorial District to produce the next governor of the state was a difficult task to achieve as most of the federal appointments was directly enjoyed by indigenes of the district.
The former finance commissioner highlighted some of the positions occupied by the indigenes of Eket Senatorial District to include, three Deputy Governors, Minister of Housing and Urban Renewal, NDDC Chairman, NDDC Commissioner representing Akwa Ibom State, Secretary to the state government and many others.
Responding on behalf the people, the former lawmaker  of Uyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon (Obong) Etim Akpaudo thanked the people for turning out en-masse to grace the event. He appealed to Obong Bassey Albert to give Asutan Ekpe Clan a separate Local Government Area if elected as the next governor and promised the support of the people towards the success of his ambition.


On his part, the former Personal Assistant to Obong Victor Attah, Hon. Emmanuel Obot also appealed to political leaders of Uyo Senatorial District to support Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government area to produce the next Senator in order for peace, equity, justice and fairness to reign adding that it is the urn of the area to produce the next senator.
Otuekong Emmanuel Obot,  a former member representing Uyo federal constituency in the National Assembly described Obong Bassey Albert Akpan as a great son of Uyo Senatorial District, assured him that the entire people of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government will support and vote for him as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.
