… Entrust her with Mandate to Liberate Women

The women of Uyo
massively declared total support for Lady Barr. Stella Ezekiel Udoh’s House of
Assembly aspiration last weekend during the latter’s consultation with the
women at Uyo Local Government Council Hall.
The women, who
turned out in their numbers under the flagship of a famous socio-political
group in the state called Women In Politics (WIP) Uyo Chapter, , said they have
had enough of failed representation by past ‘promise and fail’ politicians, who
only succeeded in aggravating their plights rather than alleviate them. The
body expressed its readiness to queue behind a credible, honest and God-fearing
aspirant with the interest of the people at heart and assuredly stated that
they have found one in Lady Barr. Stella Ezekiel Udoh.
In her speech
Obonganwan Mfon Udoukpo commended Lady Stella for summoning courage to vie for
the Uyo State Constituency seat and charged her to go all the way and break the
jinx the constituency has suffered in representation. She called on Barr Stella
Udoh to liberate the women and the entire constituency through a robust and
effective representation that will yield dividends of democracy to the people.

Obonganwan Udoukpo
further assured Lady Barr. Stella of the total support of the women folk and
charged her not to be intimidated as the women were completely endeared to her
sterling virtues and abilities which she noted stood her out of every other
aspirant vying for the office, but however tasked her not to betray the
confidence reposed on her.
Also speaking, the
legal adviser of WIP Dr. Dorathy Nelson further amplified the euphoria that
greeted the consultation, by magnifying the powers of women in upturning
difficulties into great successes and charged the women to explore their power
positively by throwing their hat behind Barr. Stella Ezekiel to ensure that she
romp into a resounding victory in 2015 to liberate the women and put the
records straight.
Meanwhile, an
elated Barr. Stella Udo who was visibly overwhelmed by the support of the women
thanked the women for receiving her with open arms and promised to pay back the
support of the women with effective and excellent representation that will open
doors for more women economically and politically.
Barr. Stella also
used the occasion to pay tribute to the state governor, His Excellency, Chief
Godswill Akpabio, CON, for carrying the women along in his administration and
charged the women to rise up to take their rightful place in the political sphere
by supporting women who have indicated genuine interest in political offices.
“The time has come
for God to do beautiful things in the lives of Uyo women. It is time for women
to be active participants in governance and I am here to open the road for the
women to excel in politics through effective representation”, declared Barr. Mrs
Stella Udoh.
The House of
Assembly hopeful further used the occasion to make known her plans for the
constituency and assured the women of her readiness to empower the women to be
self-reliant and relevant in the society.
Lady Stella pleaded
with the women to join forces with the men who have already given her their
support to vie for the seat by supporting the course of the Divine Change she
is championing to put Uyo State constituency were it rightly belongs.
Moved by the
promises of the aspirant, a foremost political women leader in the area
Obonganwan Eno Okpon retorted that past representatives have always cited lack
of resources as reasons for their below par performance but stated that “women
are good managers of scare resources” and pleaded that women should join their
men counterpart who have already set the pace by giving Mrs Stella Udoh a
chance to proof a point. Whereas, the ex-president of WIP, Princess Ima Okon
further drummed support for the House of Assembly hopeful by charging women to
preach the gospel of Divine Change championed by Lady Stella Udoh in order to
liberate the people of Uyo.
Responding on
behalf of the women, the President of WIP Obonganwan Grace Ubom eulogized the
virtues of Lady Stella Ezekiel and said the women were so proud of her quality;
expressing confidence on her qualities and ability, to deliver quality and
effective representation to the people based on her exceptional academic and professional
track record.
Among the
dignitaries present at the event were: Obonganwan Grace Ubom, President WIP,
Mrs. Roseline Eneh, Secretary WIP, Mrs. Mary Dorathy Nelson, Legal Adviser WIP,
PRO, Obonganwan Eno Okpon, Obonganwan Mfon Udoukpo and a whole lot of others.
Members of the
Divine Change entourage that made the trip included Sir Ezekiel Udoh, Lady
Barr. Stella Ezekiel Udoh, Obonganwan Christiana Nsikak Ikpe, and Obong Emmanuel Udoekong etc.
